When Roosters Cry

Oh boy.

It has been an adventurous couple of days on the island.

First of all, the sun came out! Yes, sunburns did ensue. It’s just my husband and I now, as the rest of our family has migrated back to their respective homes, and we are here for a while yet, soaking up the sun (hopefully) and eating WAY TOO MUCH FOOD.

This rooster, featured at one of our new favorite right-on-the-water fooderies, is looking less and less adorable, and more and more delicious.

The sun wasn’t out for long… this evening, a massive thunderstorm rolled in, soaking the island, and turning the parking lot into a pond, which was a major concern for our tiny hampster car rental.

Fortunately, the storm created an amazing sunset, proving that not all silver linings are silver.

Second of all, in case you weren’t aware, Prince has a house on the island. We spent a LONG time last night looking for it, and it was found, but it was too dark for pictures.

The island roosters weep at our rookie mistake.

However, my husband and I are dedicated to you viewers, and I promise a daylight photo of the purple driveway before I leave.

Enjoy the weather wherever you are, it could change in an instant!
